For anyone living in a tiny space, having a home office can seem like a bit of a pipe dream. If every square metre is seemingly already accounted for, how are you going to squeeze in a desk as well? Fortunately, there are plenty of ways of creating a workspace in even the tightest of spaces, and a ladder desk is possibly the most versatile, space-saving desk of them all.
Ladder desks have a very minimal footprint, so they don’t need much floor space. The worktop is sufficient for a laptop and the additional shelves above, provide extra storage. Aesthetically they would not look too ‘worky’ in a small bedroom and could double up as a dressing table. If you live in a rented flat or don’t have the budget to build custom shelves, a ladder desk would slot into an alcove or nook, and you would barely notice it was there.
